Show off!
This is during out heat spell of nearly 100 degrees. Although it is night time, we are all wide awake and sticky with sweat. I went outside to put something away, and next thing I know Cal is showing off his 2 wheeling balancing skills. I used the picture (face cropped) on my other blog to talk about balance bikes.
I like when mommy and I go on the train.This is what makes it all worthwhile!

Cal got into our first choice school for next year! Although it is a public school, we had to apply in a lottery to get in. Unfortunately, it is a full-day Kindergarten and the city makes us pay for "full-day K". But the payment will only apply for one year.
Here is the school's philosophy:
Students are encouraged to be independent thinkers, learners and problem solvers. Our students develop and demonstrate the ability to create questions, formulate solutions and apply results throughout their lives.Added bonus. It's less than a mile from our home!
Our must attend spring time event! The hail even stopped for us to enjoy our ice cream in relatively sunny (albeit cold) weather!

Cal did too, he just didn't want to pose in the "traditional" smile.
We only went through the line twice. :) And yes. Ice cream was the kids' dinner!
My school had an Earth Day festival. Unfortunately, we showed up with only 20 minutes left in the festivities. They did make some cool newspaper hats though!
We had to take advantage of them before the rain and hail (and snow!) returned!
Here are some of the tulips in front of our home. They were gorgeous this year.
He's creating new games. I call this "the Coke game". LOL!
And exploring his photography skills.
We tried out roller skating for the first time. Cal was so awesome! After ten minutes of hanging fearfully on mommy and grandma's arms, he got it! I don't know what grandma's magic is, but you can see how independent Cal was after spending a few minutes alone skating with her!
Unfortunately, the skating ended badly. Cal looked back to show off her awesomeness and fell flat on his face. He had a bloody nose and split lip. It was pretty horrid to look at. But he doesn't seem scarred for life and I think he's excited to try again. Eventually.
Update: thanks for the prayers! He's home already (it was just a day surgery). They found and repaired a hernia and "pulled apart" a bunch of scar tissue. That's about all I know right now. Keep praying for a good recovery and less pain!!
Please pray for Wink as he is going in for exploratory surgery in about 2 hours. Please pray that the doctor will find why he is in so much pain and fix it!!

My how she's blossomed and grown! I told her today was her special day and she said in her tiny little girly voice, "Me? [i]My[/i] special day? Why?"
The clutch gave out. It will be just under $700 to replace :( Hello kicker check!
Meet Eric!
He is 4.5 years old (just like Cal!) and lives in Rwanda with his parents and 6 siblings. With our sponsorship money, Eric will be able to attend school as well as eat one meal per day there and get clothes and toiletries. We are proud to begin praying for him and hoping that through our fund raising efforts (getting great deals with sales and coupons and then reselling) his life and others lives will be changed.

We celebrated Cal's 4th family day with our traveling friends. The boys are getting so big!!
And the younger siblings are mighty big as well!
1. Wink finally took down the Christmas decorations. Hurray!
2. We finally dug up a tree in front of the house that has been dead for 18 months.
3. We finally planted a grafted cherry tree that we bought last month at Costco (yum! cherries!)
4. I actually got a sunburn!
