Celebrating Christmas/New Year's at home

We have our home celebration of opening gifts and special breakfast on New Years Day. That way we can look forward to something after returning from our vacation and make it into a special family tradition. It also is a way to remind ourselves that the New Year is (in theory) a marking of the number of years since Christ's birth.

We tried to keep the gifts small and realatively inexpensive. But friends and family also sent us gifts that we enjoyed unwrapping this morning. Here are some pictures of our new toys!
