Korean day
Today turned out to be a Korean day....
Together with our friends we visited a store that sells kids toys and art supplies. It turned out that it is run by a Korean family and the entire store is STOCKED full of Korean toys, educational products, etc. Too bad for them we know the conversion rate from Won to Dollars and could see the enormous mark up!
One woman who works there spent a lot of time showing Cal how to do some different art techniques. She was encouraging and very kind. She also was a great saleswoman as we ended up buying a number of art items from her (oil pastels, brush, art book, watercolor pens). They also had us almost fork out a LOT of money to enrol Cal in an art class. The class looked amazing and had he been old enough (4) I think we might have been persuaded.
I am now on a mission to get Cal some great art instruction (but hopefully cheaper) since he shows a lot of natural talent. Friends and family... an
yone interested in helping Cal get some art lessons? Maybe we'll fundraise by selling off some of his previous masterpieces? ;)
We played in the park for an hour or so and the kids had great fun (and Cal made a new friend and kept calling, "Friend! Friend! Come here!" We'll have to work
on asking for names.)
In the evening we celebrated Korean New Year at a Sol Nal festival. The kids got some basic Korean language instruction, supposedly learned to bow (which Cal either couldn't or wouldn't do), some Korean drum instruction, and a Korean meal.
It was a very fun and full day!

We enjoyed seeing you at Sol Nal! And from the picture, Cal wasn't the only one who didn't want to bow, Jordan isn't bowing too well either! ;)
Great pictures! Little man loves to bow, but sometimes doesn't come back up. ;-)
