Virus alert
I received an email today at work with this title. I figured they were telling us to be careful about a new computer virus. Oh no. They meant a "I don't think I can make it to the bathroom, I'm gonna throw-uuuuuuu" type of virus. There were a huge number of kids out of school today and at least 30 had confirmed flu like syptoms. Since schools 15 miles away had recently SHUT DOWN due to virus "epidemics" our school decided to take extra precautions. What does that mean? The night custodian will not sweep the school for a week. Instead he will be bleaching every surface in every classroom (he never seems to sweep my room anyway so I don't care about this at all). The district got concerned about possible health issues so they are sending over reinforcements to help in the sanitizing of the school.
Since myself and both of my assistants have been sick over the last week this is not a huge surprise to me. However, the illness that the 3 of us had did NOT include stomach symptoms. Now I have to worry about another nasty bug headed my way? I don't think I can "fake it" at work if I am vomiting the way that I showed up in body (but not mind) last week.

Be careful CC! It's probably the Norwalk virus (also known as the cruise ship virus) It spreads soooo easily... we've had several schools here that have shut down for a couple of days due to it. The best protection as you know WASH YOUR HANDS and keep some hand sanitizer at your desk! Hope you stay well!!
